Romance beta reader

Hi,

i am currently writing romantic fiction novel and wonder if there is someone interested in acting as my Beta reader during the process?

It would be very helpful if this person was experienced in the field , have dealt with similar requests, and of course was excited about romance/erotica in general.

Alternatively, it would be great if someone could offer an advice on where to seek such people.

Many thanks,

Nathalie

Hello ladies. Just wanted to thank you for your advice and clarify that indeed I am looking for an interested in the genre person who would be able to give their opinion on an idea itself , on its flow. Of course I do believe in what I am writing and excited about it, but I still would like to shed some light on a potential reader's reaction.

find out it there are any writing groups in your area. Reading your own work out loud and hearing the feedback from others is very helpful.

The group I attend meet twice a month on a wednesday and there's a sub-group for the novel writers that meet on the other wednesdays of the month. In the novel group we read approx. 2,000 words each for feedback. A member of our group has been given a publishing deal.

What exactly are you looking for, Nathalie? A proof-reader? An editor? Or just someone to read through your novel and pick out any problems in the plot or sequence? It makes a difference; anyone who is going to correct your proofs will want to be paid. If you belong to any writing groups, and there are many on FB, for instance, where you chat to writers of the same genre, you could put the call out there. It's important to find someone who reads romance/erotica; some people won't touch it.
