Self Published

I have recently written, edited and self-published a book (An English Summer - A.M. Crook). As I haven't given exclusivity to the host, I figured there was no reason why I shouldn't self-publish then look for a traditional deal. I have learned that agents often want manuscripts sent in a certain format but surely I could just send them a copy of my book? Thoughts?

Thanks for coming back Jonathan but I'm not talking about a second book, I'm talking about getting this one published via the traditional route, I'd just pull it from Amazon if I got a deal. Slightly unorthodox but I can't see why not.

When I was approaching publishers/agents with my second story I found they weren't interested in seeing the first self-pub, even when I offered it if the contact progressed beyond initial enquiry. Maybe things have changed over the last couple of years, though.
