Several projects at once.

Good morning everyone,

Just a request for advice or for someone to clarify whether it's normal behaviour for anyone writing.

This has happened more than once with me. I get on with my story, the chapters start flowing and it takes shape nicely and then... I have another idea and all of a sudden, I have jumped on to that and begun expanding on it. Due to this, I have several new stories all up and running and I'm starting to get lost off with the older ones.

Is this normal for anyone who chooses to write?

Thank you

Inspiration is for amateurs - Jule Styne

Styne was a British-American song writer and composer known for a series of Broadway hit songs.

Styne was being pragmatic, not harshly dismissive. He meant that inspiration alone is useless. That you have to be reasonably proficient in a particular craft, in order to put a creative idea into practise.

Ideas are fine, but it’s the work, work, and yet more work, that is important.

It is so easy for writing newcomers to think they are working, but they may just be dreaming.

Have an ‘Ideas Book’ (as I have), but remember it’s the hard work that produces cheques.
