Hey, I've been thinking, as one option, of self-publishing my works by a UK company called ShieldCrest. Does anyone have experiences on that company? Are they as good as they say? Do they offer the best value for money as they advertise?

Many thanks for your advice, Adrian.
I hadn't thought of those services so thanks for that; I'll definitely look into them now.
Best regards!
Even if their not a vanity-publisher, It's unlikely they'll invest money in, or promote your book. These types of publishers won't do a paperback print-run unless you pay for it.
Avoid signing a contract unless you're not bothered about your rights if your book is a success .English rights, foreign rights, film rights, royalties. percentage of royalties on a sliding scale the more copies you sell.
It's similar story with large publishers. They rarely invest in would-be authors. When they do its mostly a no risk investment publishing through Kindle. If the author is successful, they cream off most of the profits.
Have you considered professional literary services before choosing this route to self-publish?
Thanks for your comment. I aim to have, say, a novel to be published as a paperback, not electronically and have it for sale in Amazon and, if possible, in book shops. I can't estimate the number of copies I'd like to 'get out there', but certainly more than 5-10.
