I appreciate we are all on tender hooks reference the short story competition freedom that will be announced on the 27th of March on this site.
As I understand from the response admin left on recent Q and A's that there is not going to be any announcement to the winner or runners-up prior to the event on the evening.
I was just wondering if it would end up working like this.....
The winner of the short story competition freedom 2013 is ??(At home with his wife and children)
And the runner-up of the competition Is ?????? (Working a night shift)
I would love to attend the event and support the winner and runners up but I live in Leamington spa. How many of you will be going? I'm just quite grateful the loser does not get informed, saves me sitting about waiting.

Dear all,
Although we would love to be able to publicly announce the shortlist, unfortunately it is just not possible given the time restraints and the need for anonymity.
To clarify however, those three entrants in the running for the prize will be notified prior to the event.
Based on the overwhelming response to this year's competition and your feedback, next year we will try to announce the shortlist on the site, allowing plenty of time for people to make arrangements to attend any event we have running alongside the competition.
We'd love to see you all there, to support both the winners and the short story genre.
