Can I participate in two short story competitons with the same writing ?

Replies

No. If one was judged before the other, and you won (which would be brilliant!) your piece could then appear while still being entered elsewhere. Definitely check the rules - they do vary.

Usually the terms and conditions of competitions will state that the work must be previously unpublished and not already submitted elsewhere. Check the T's and C's for the competitions that you intend to enter.
