Hi Fellow Writers, does anyone know of a short story being successfully expanded into a novel? I'm currently thinking I could do something with my short story posted on this site 'Dogs of War'.
I've always been lead to believe that short stories and novels are very different beasts (pun!) and never the twain should meet, however, does anyone know of an instance where this has been successfully achieved?

Hey Mark, I read your 'Dogs of War' and it's a GEM. Me and any body who read it would totally love to read it as a novel but making it work is your responsibility, although I believe you'll do wonders with it. So all the best for that.
And about your question, I go through the net to find out, if any body did this before, but couldn't. But I will be searching again, and will inform you, if so.
Hi Mark, I could see your short story develop into a novel. It was an excellent short story and I believe it would be a great novel of cause not all can be said for all short stories but I wish all the best in developing yours and look forward to a snippet thereof.
