Story Progression

What are some of your tips for story progression?

Hi Michelle.

I have written a novel on impulse, without a plan. The result is that I have spent ages cutting it down to size and tying everything together.

A week spent planning can save months of re-writing and cutting, though you will still need to do some of that.

Look on the internet for the starfish method. I'm using it for my second novel. It seems to be just right, as you can use or discard parts of it if you don't like them.

Good luck and keep on doing.

Regards,

PabloJ.

Thank you, I've never understood how writers like Jackie Collins just write without a plan

I always write a plan before start, then at least I know roughly where the story's going. It helps you spot any weak points, too.
