Struggling

I am struggling with continuing my work. I know having a busy schedule is no excuse to slack, but by the time I get to sit down and get something done with my writing, I feel so exhausted I just switch off and leave it. I suppose this is somewhat a form of writers block, but can anyone advise on how I can overcome this?

What you state is the main problem of being an amature writer. You do have another life to contend with, so don't feel disheartened when your two worlds collide. I wouldn't call it writers block either... If you are too tired to write, then you are too tired to write and the only thing you can do is rest.

Of course, it is frustrating when you can't continue with your writing, but the danger is getting obsessive over it. Remember, at this point in your life, it is a hobby. And hobbies are slotted into your life - for enjoyment - when time and energy allows.

However, if you sit down one day and feel too tired to write, but want to do something, then just do a spot of editing. Read previous pages and see if anything can be improved and make a pen and paper note of any ideas.

Tricky. I've suffered with the same problem, where my writers block actually lasted over a year. Well, not quite. I wasn't writing anything serious just a load of rubbish (or random fanfic for things, basically stuff that only made sense to me and no one else).

I think sometimes you can't force creativity and the best thing to do is try not to think about it just let inspiration come naturally. Or maybe you could try something like finding a theme. Just anything. A single word, like "Identity" and just try to write something informally. No pressure, this is just for fun. I took part in the Villain competition and that started me going again.

I hope this makes sense. I know what I mean I just struggle to put it into words.
