Submission format

I'd like to submit for the 'Joy' competition. I've completed my story and read through the conditions.

However, I couldn't see any stipulation regarding a required format or layout that some publishers require: e.g. font-size, font-face, double-spaced, word-count at the end, etc? That kind of thing. Is it required here, or are you fairly flexible about that?

I'm used to writing TMAs for my Open University Creative Writing course, where they were very insistent about students using an approved layout, so I thought it wise to check with you first.

Many thanks,

Steve

Thanks Anahi, for your quick response.

I'm not sure if the staff here answer these questions, do they? I'm guessing they probably won't be around till Monday, in any case, when it will be too late.

I wonder, have you previously submitted here successfully, using your chosen format?

If I don't hear anything definite, I'll probably do as you are doing, and hope for the best.

Hi, I was wondering the same thing! I decided to go with conventional font (Times New Roman), and pitch (12) and I submitted one file with the story title and author's by-line, single-spaced (double between paragraphs), indented paragraphs, and word count at the end of the file, in square brackets. The second file I submitted was spaced 1.5 lines and did not include title or by-line. Hope this helps!
