Submitting stories

I have a dilema . Many short story competitions ask for previously unpublished work . Do they count stuff posted on a site like this as having being 'published''?

I want to get my stories read before I submit as the feedback is so helpful. Anyone got any useful info in this regard.

Ps. posted another poem a few days ago which I would be grate someone would crit!

Thanks Louise you are right, not what I was hoping to hear. I used to belong to a Writing Circle years ago probably would be the best way to go.

Thanks for your feedback.

Well, you'd need to check the rules for each competition you were interested in submitting to but, more often than not, I think posting on a site like this one would count as "previously published" - even if you take it down after a while. Ditto posting on a blog. Sorry - probably not what you want to hear.

What about joining a "real life" writers' group for critiquing purposes?
