This might entertain those that love grammar.
In part of my work I am now writing I am dealing with the 3rd person (limited) perspective from the far future of events taking place (that by then have taken place) in the next few years from now.
Need a diagram? (I do).
So I am writing in 2013 for people looking back from (say) 3030 at events that take place in 2020.
Therefore the question is: what tense would I be writing in?
:-)

Omniscient-narrator, but whatever tense your comfortable with.
Many authors write from the present timeline and then portray scenes from the past. Is that different from what you are trying to do?
I would research Margaret Atwood. I remember a friend saying she was very good at combining past and present timelines.
I hope that helps.
Or it might even entertain those WHO love grammer! :)
Past tense, but you would need something to ground your reader in the future before you began.
Or you can leave the future voice a mystery, write it with someone very obviously looking back and reveal all at the end.
Either way, past tense as the year now is irrelevant to your characters. They are in the future looking back and you are limited to their POV.
