Time for writing

Since I am studying for my boards this year, I hardly get time to take up pen and write. And the problem is when I sit down to write, I don't want to get up for the next one hour at the least.

Also, the school and studies get me occupied so much that i even have to read novels in parts during the bus-rides.

So how do you take out time for writing from your busy schedule and how much do you intend to write every day?

Hallo Vidhi,

May I offer you a piece of advice ? I have just completed my boards. The past year has been very hard for me, managing the work pressure and still finding pleasure in life. I even did Nanowrimo and did write 50k words in a month...

S, I would say, concentrate on your boards for now. Just plan your time, say , 20 minutes everyday won't harm you... And about sitting for 1 hour or so, just think of of your school work and force yourself to get up.....

Reading novels in bus ? I was worse, xD! I am 17 and for the past 4 - 5 years, I have been reading novels in the bus, during lunch and skipping the phyical education class to read books too.... xD!

Plan your time, focus on your boards but spend time with books too... :) :)

Good Luck ! !

It's about time-management. A would-be author must find regular times to write or he or she will never finish their novel. I wouldn't worry to much If I was you. You have the advantage of youth and plenty of time on your side. Its great to see that young people are trying to write.

Good luck.

What I find if I'm too busy with my normal life and it's taking me away from my writing, I take down notes. It's not a lot but it gets me along and at least I know I've done something.

Or maybe do 30 minutes writing before you go to bed at night, or while you have your breakfast in the morning. Just think of it as studying. Every little helps after all, and you'll soon find with those notes you've started to write a book or poem. :) Happy writing...
