Has anyone out there ever had a crisis of confidence? For some reason I'm looking at my work and thinking 'I can't do this.' This feels quite strange as I can usually get enthusiastic about my writing, now I'm not sure anymore. Help.

Absolutely, I think it's all part of the great cycle of confidence. It's OK to have a slump, think your writing isn't up to par or noone likes it; just don't let it stop you! To paraphrase Churchill, if you're going through a crisis, keep going! You are writing, build on what you have and keep writing things down, it will all help.
I enjoy reading your work, as Clare says, keep going!

Hi Clare thank you for your comment. It's encouraging to know it happens to others. It just seems odd that it came up on me like it did. I think you might be right about taking a few days away from it, will try it hopefully I'll get my mojo back. Thanks again
All the time Elsie. Sometimes I look at what I've wrote and think it's great, and then the next day I can look at the same thing and think it's awful and I've wasted my time. I think it's fairly common for writers to experience.
Maybe take a few days break from that particular piece and come back to it? That has helped me. And take heart from the encouragement and feedback you've had on here.
Good luck with it, I enjoy reading your writing.
