More and more publishers are now declaring this! So what are we to do?
Get an agent? wahay! (she says sarcastically)
Ironically i've read that some agents don't want you if you're not published.
But then publishers don't want you unless you have an agent.
Has anyone had any experiences with an agent?
If so, would you like to shed some light on their performance.
Agent or no agent? Technical advise would be very much appreciated.
I suppose the self publishing route, made easier by the uptake of e-readers, is an option. Gather enough popularity and who knows?
There's a long list of agents/agencies in the 'Writers' and Artists' Yearbook' and the 'Guide to Literary Agents'. I have already prepared a list of 80 websites. When I'm ready to submit I will check out their website submission guidelines to see if they have changed. But the agencies on my list do take unsolicited submissions. I'm sure you will find many in those books that cover your genre.
This has been a problem for some time now. If you discover the answer let us all know. I understand agents look at this site which is run by Bloomsbury. Maybe, just maybe if your work is worthy of publishing you will be spotted and will be signing a contract very soon. Oh, don't forget to post your best stuff on here for the delectation of agents and editors
