Should it be ' the French taxi driver' or 'the french taxi driver'

I just do not know and I have tried to establish the answer via searching the internet, yet not certain of the answers I am getting, so I thought I would ask some real experts. Thank you in advance.

If I was referring to nationality I would always capitalise.

Is it the driver driving a Citreon taxi? or is the driver a Frenchman driving a Ford taxi?

Either way I would keep things simple and just use French,
