What should I do?

I've been writing poetry for ages now and a teacher recommended that I submit it for publishing. Who should I submit it to and how? I'm quite young.

Hi Jay,

You could perhaps look for some magazines which publish young people's poetry. A quick Google search comes up with heaps, many of them based purely online. There will be details of how to make submissions found on their pages.

Alternatively, how about entering competitions? The Foyle Young Poets competition closes in 8 weeks, and is one of the most prestigious poetry competitions there is for young people. As long as you're aged 11-17, you can enter! Hope this helps and good luck :-)
