What is your writing routine?

What do you usually do when you sit down to write?

Do you have tea? Biscuits? The TV on/muted? The radio on?

Do you start by re-reading what you last wrote?

Do you head to your plan first or do you just pick up from where you left off?

This is purely for my interest ^_^

Sit down with big glass of water, tootle about on the internet & check emails, then finally get down to some writing. Usually like to be in a separate room away from dogs, husband & distractions.

Total silence is needed here. I sit by the window and watch nature.

At the moment, I am writing/editing for each night after my son goes to bed but before I turn in.

The trouble with this as a routine is it makes it difficult to shut off.
