You didn't say what type of publishing you had in mind. Today, you have the fabulous possibility of self-publishing on the internet in ebook form. There are many sites that let you download your book and put a price on it.
As Adrian mentioned, whether you go the classic way of publishing or not, you do need someone to read it for editing purposes and to perhaps point out weaknesses, in their opinion. There is absolutely no point in publishing something that is full of spelling, grammar or punctuation mistakes. You will be shooting yourself because no one wants to pay for inferior products.
You can self-publish on sites such as Smashwords, Amazon KDP, Barnes & Noble etc.
Be sure to have a book cover ready to download with your manuscript. Remember that books are judged in the first instance by their cover!
