where is my starting point

I have an idea/a full story I need to write. The problem is that it can't get out of my head. I live with it everyday, but I need it on paper to be enjoyed the same way I do. My title is: Going to the grave. How?

If you have an idea, start where the action starts. Whose story is it? Open with that person. You can always revise and add more later. I'd say in general avoid prologues and pick up the story where the reader will be interested. Jump in where things are exciting, and if readers are confused, you can extrapolate in a second draft.

If you're truly stumped still, try writing character bios, or listing what you want the story to convey, ultimately. And good luck!
