which publisher to approach for a graphic/comic book?

Firstly I would like to share the basic story line of the book. It's a story of 4 teenage characters, 2 boys and 2 girls.

These 4 friends have taken a gap year after high school and are travelling to explore the world. Gap year is a popular concept in the west where students want to explore career options, learn about life, see the world and in the process discover what they truly want to do in their lives. So these 4 friends have taken a gap year and have set out to travel and discover the world. Their 1st destination is London. They will visit London in the year 2012 in which LONDON Olympics and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee has taken place. They would visit all the popular places in London namely Big Ben, London eye, Madame Tussauds, Thames River cruise, Shakespeare’s Globe, Buckingham Palace, Windsor Palace, Kensington Palace, Oxford Street, St Pauls, Science Museum, Tower of London, Harrods etc. Each character would look at these places with a different perspective. Each character's peculiarities and characteristic traits will be woven in the story to add elements of fun and humor. Of course the reader gets to learn about new places as important facts about each place would be thrown in here and there, but that will only be incidental learning. The idea is to share their travel experiences and create a series on lines of sitcoms like "FRIENDS" and other such popular shows.

The target audience is 7 years and above.

What is there in store for the Reader:

a. Learn about different countries, their culture, popular places, history, facts etc. All this would be an incidental learning for the reader.

b. Any comic/graphic book is interesting to the reader due to its visual appeal so that would be given due consideration. I have hired one of very senior artists and for inspirations and ideas, we are referring to some of the best artwork available in this category.

c. Personality traits of each of the character would bring out the fun element in the graphic book.

d. I am not saying that this book would replace a lonely planet or any other travel guide but it would certainly kindle an interest in visiting/knowing about new places as the characters might be fictional but the places they visit would be real.

Thanks Paul. That means a lot . I am also very confident about the idea but just don't know how to bring it out to the world. Did some research and found out about a few publishers like NOBROW. Am currently writing to them . Lets see

Thanx again!

Hi Piryanka. I think the concept is a good one, loads of work and research, but as we all know research can be fun and is educational. I hope you manage to bring this off but I haven't a clue about a publisher but wanted to let you know I think it's a good idea. Hope it goes really well, good luck. Regards Paul G
