Who reads the final draft of your book before you decide it's ready to submit to Agents? I have almost finished my novel about a Far East Prisoner of War and feel it's time to let some of my friends who are fiction readers to give feedback on how it flows and what they feel could be left out? Does anyone else do this?
@ Sarah Dyne:
Thanks for the tip! I've just signed up at https://www.authonomy.com/
Unfortunately, my Internet link is too weak for me to be able to upload either my manuscript or the illustrations, and after I do (possibly from the village library, tomorrow), site administration will take up to 48 hours to approve a 1st contribution (to make sure that I'm not a spammer).
Authonomy - its helped me hone my book so much...but you have to be prepared to give back & read other books as well
Ask friends, but get them to make notes - makes it less likely they'll say, 'That was lovely, dear' when they are only being kind.
