Writer's Block

Hello fellow aspiring writers,

Does any of you also suffer from Writer's Block? It seems as though I am under that category of 'illness' at present as I seemed to have lost interest in finishing my manuscript. I tend to open it but my brain is just finding it 'hard and uncommitted' to engage.

Any advice or tips on how to overcome this? Thanks in advance for your input.

This is personal experience, not advice - when I'm finding the writing process hard it's mostly because there's some part of the manuscript that needs working on - and I'm not just admitting it!

Advice - try writing something completely different to 'unblock' yourself. You'll either go back to your original manuscript with renewed enthusiasm or have worked out what needs changing in it.

Hi Marlon. I had the same problem several weeks ago and posted the question. The best advice I got was to leave it alone. Don't try and work on it for a few days or a week then go back to it. If your mojo is still not in gear then work on something else for a while, take your mind from it then try again. This worked for me. Hope this helps. Elsie.
