I just came across this article and it got me wondering;

Writer's block seems to be a term that other people (when did I start calling non-writers "other people?") have picked up as a writer's excuse when they can't be bothered writing. But it happens, all too frequently, and I've discovered that there is in fact no cure. Either the Muse sings, or she does not, and no matter where I sit or stand or walk, inspiration will strike when it wants to.
For me, anyway. Anyone got any ways of dealing with the dreaded WB?
I've been in this (terrible) situation for over two weeks. Thanks God, I could revert it yesterday in the middle of the night. It was about 3:00 AM, believe me! I just woke up and said: I'm feeling "it"! Long wait but worth it in the end... I wrote one of the most beautiful chapters of my life. I guess the WB have this bright side.
Mark, read, read, read, for inspiration. Make time to think about what you have read. It only takes: a line or paragraph of prose, or a verse poetry to get you going.
Have you a beginning, middle and end of your book in your mind, or written down?
If not, use your imagination. Visualize where you are going next. Play the next scene out in your mind, and then write it down.
Hi Mark, sorry to hear you are suffering the dreaded block, unfortunately like Jonathan, I know not a cure. Especially as I am entering the sixth week of having written nothing.
I have heard that narrowing it down to why/when/how the block started can help, and I have a feeling I know what it is due to, but until work settles down a bit, and I can get some 'good' 'wholesome' sleep, then I figure it will stick around a bit longer.
