Writing time

Seeing as writing is a very time consuming and somewhat anti-social occupation how do you make space for it without annoying partners/family? Do you just fit in bits & pieces around everyday life, or do you set aside a regular specific time when you're not to be disturbed and keep to it rigidly?

I work in my own room, though currently my "routine" is rather "un-routined". I am rectifying that, so that I can work every day possible, trying to make it 9-5/6, working round part-time work, and also not not taking a day or two off during the week, to help maintain the routine without becoming over-worked / stressed, and to spend time with family and friends. It needs to be as much like a proper job as possible, to still be social, albeit outside of writing.
