Gary,

I find myself doing this at times,I've noticed, as Lorraine has mentioned, it helps me when I get stuck with one piece (writer's block is an awful thing for me). I often have multiple pieces being worked on at once with multiple genres. Very best of luck in your writing endeavours.

It's entirely up to you, Gary. If you can do it, why not? Stops you getting into a rut with one if you can change to another.

There are no rules - do what works for you.
