I am currently writing my first non-fiction book and have recently acquired a non-fiction writing qualification for the Manchester Writer's Bureau.
I am working from 30 years of journals and knowledge gained over 30 years of interest in Israel and Palestine. My book covers the period from British Mandatory rule to today.
Hello. I have a question about using the names of real products and companies in a fictional story I am writing. It is based in England and Scotland and all the characters are purely fictional, but to add a touch of reality I'd like to add some real references, some of which include; The Caledonian Sleeper (train), Pot Noodles, Land Rover, Raleigh bicycles, Dalwhinnie Distillery, Fort George (Historic Scotland). Do I need to seek permission? Are the names protected? Or can I just add them to the story without asking? Thank you in advance for your replies. ANDY
I have managed to publish five books with KDP and about to add another. I have had a few sales but nothing to get excited about. I am now looking seriously into promotion. Has anyone experience of this, using the KDP or any other source? I haven't found the KDP site very helpful in understanding what is actually required and how it works.
