Writing Intersectional Queer Narratives

Writing Intersectional Queer Narratives

We are really looking forward to welcoming you to ‘Writing Intersection Queer Narratives’.

Queer stories were erased or sidelined for centuries. Now that there is more space for and attention on queer stories, what does it mean for queer literature of the future?

In this session, Santanu Bhattacharya will take you through his thinking and process around applying the 'queer lens’ to all kinds of stories, thereby preventing queer content from becoming formulaic, and instead exploring intersections with family, politics, the workplace, climate change, community, and other aspects of our lives.

He will talk about what makes a story essentially ‘queer’, what ‘queer’ might mean in storytelling, and how to look out for tropes and trappings.
