BENEATH THE GODS is a psychological horror comic series set within a fractured, reality-warping world governed by incomprehensible entities.
When Isaiah Rourke awakens in an unfamiliar landscape alongside a group of strangers, survival appears to be the immediate priority. But as the environment begins to shift and close in around them, it becomes clear that this is not simply a hostile place—it is a controlled one.
After a fatal decision forces Isaiah to abandon a man to die, the group presses forward, already fractured by guilt and distrust. They soon encounter figures that resemble themselves but behave incorrectly—delayed movements, distorted emotion, repeated speech. As paranoia spreads, the line between human and imitation begins to blur.
With each step, the survivors are forced into increasingly impossible choices. Some kill to survive. Others hesitate—and pay the price. Alliances form and collapse. Leadership is challenged. Trust becomes a liability.
All the while, a silent, unmoving presence—known only as The Witness—appears at the edges of their journey, always near moments of death, never intervening.
As the series unfolds, the group begins to understand that they are not simply trying to escape this world—they are being observed, studied, and manipulated by forces beyond comprehension. Reality itself shifts in response to their decisions, and the cost of survival becomes increasingly psychological.
By the final issue, the survivors are no longer the people they were when they arrived. The question is no longer whether they can escape—
…but whether anything of them remains worth saving.
BENEATH THE GODS is a contained six-issue series exploring moral collapse, identity erosion, and the cost of survival in a world where there are no heroes—only consequences.
