The Spanish Peaks
Jutting rudely from the craggy Llano, the teeth of Gods;
Silver, muscular, and spartan like two of Arthur’s Knights
With broadswords boldly crossed and axes drawn
And Merlin’s magic dust forever whisking the twin summits.
Opposing peaks snow-capped until July, the burly twin titans
Rule the wind-battered vastness of the Southern Colorado plains
With two shimmering steel hands.
