What is the rule about double or single spacing please for the Arvon competition, deadline Feb 14?

I'm glad this question has been asked because I am not sure exactly what it means by double spacing - I'm presuming its a double space between each word? I'm sorry to ask what is probably a very stupid question here but I simply don't know!

Hi Anthony,
I just submitted my short story as I would submit a manuscript to a publisher.
Courier, 12pt, double spaced.
I didn't read anything in the guidelines, so thought it best to stick to the same format.
