I've been having this argument for a while. My boyfriend seems to think that physical books will eventually die out and will be replaced by ebooks entirely. I always argue there will always be people that love the feel of a new book, the smell and the actual physicality of having that book! Almost like a trophy! What say you? Are books dying?
I PREFER A BOOK THAT YOU CAN HOLD IN YOUR HANDS AND SMELL THE PAPER AND THE NEWNESS OF IT AND I BELIEVE THAT BOOKS IN THERE SOLID FORM WILL ALWAYS BE AROUND NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES THE SOCIAL MEDIA SAY THAT BOOKS ARE DYING OUT. wE WILL ALWAYS HAVE THE BOOKSHOP FOR THOSE WHO PREFER TO HAVE AN OLD FRIEND IN THEIR HAND. I HOPE MY ANSWER HELPS IN SOME WAY IN ANSWERING YOUR QUERY.
“Screen reading seems particularly well-suited to the kind of light entertainments that have traditionally been sold in supermarkets and airports as mass-market paperbacks.”
That trend is obvious if you skim the titles of Amazon’s best seller list for Kindle eBooks. Genre fiction, like thrillers and romance, make up the vast majority of these titles.
I am always in a book shop, If I love a book, I have to have it in hardback. I think we need to save the book shop but sadly I am becoming a slave to audible for it convenience.
