book investors

Hi I am new to this bloging so please bear with me.

My son wrote a book which we got self published and now we are trying to get news of his story and his book out there to the public. The company I used mentioned something about needing a book investor but wanted to charge £900 a month for 4 month to try and find one! does anyone know how this works and if it is possible to approach them as a member of the public?

The Writer's & Artists Yearbook has a list of agents.

You need to do your homework. Look at their website, who they represent, what genre they represent, look at the books published by their authors.

Also, go into Waterstones or any good bookshop, look at other books in the same genre. You will usually find who the agent is in the acknowledgements.

Bloomsbury run 'How to Hook an Agent' workshops too.

There's a lot of groundwork to cover but it's worth doing as much as possible before sending your manuscript.

Good luck
