What conditions do you write best in?
Is there a particular place your write best in? When do you write?
By hand or typed or both? Music while writing or no music? Indoors outdoors etc..

When I was studying I used to listen to music all the time. I studied graphic design, and it greatly helped me when progressing through a project. I could get lost in the method of the piece.
Now, I can't listen to music while I am working. I work as a web developer so I need to concentrate on programming and getting stuck in.
I can write anywhere though. Tube is a good place as I tend to use my phone so it's quite nice and private. Though I do a lot at home when putting all my notes together. I would love a little nook with a nice comfy armchair, but for now I will make do with what I've got - it seems to be working.
I write on the train every day on the way to and from work. It's uncomfortable, noisy and very public. Nobody seems to notice though. I expect everyone thinks I'm slaving over a hot spreadsheet or fretting about an email from my boss like all the other suckers who've got laptops on their knees, but I'm not. Sometimes I feel quite smug... ;)
I can always write when I'm surrounded by people talking - I just kind of zone out of the real world into my own little corner - but when it comes to music its a no go. I've tried, because when listening to certain types I get little nuggets of inspiration, I thought 'Hey! Maybe I'll be able to right more, and more often if I listen to this music whilst writing!' Oh boy was I wrong. I just ended up singing or humming along, staring at that little flashing line. So I generally write at my desk in my room in silence. Apart from the music though, I'm okay in any sort of place. Though writing on trains is a pain, because I hate nosy people so I end up scrunched up in a corner by the window haha.
