Does music influence your writing?

I find that when I want some help writing a particular scene for my novel, be it someone conveying deep and heart felt emotions to full action packed moments, then listening to certain genres of music help a great deal to convey the right feeling. So, do you find music helps or hinders your writing?

Oh Yes, I find listening to Vivaldi's Four Seasons really helps me unblock, if I am stuck at a particular character's dilemma. Apart from that anything goes.

I listen to classical music, or no music.

I believe that writing without distractions is better, but music can inspire me to write.

I hope that the genius of classical composers rubs off on me.

I find pop music/musical theatre way too distracting, but some classical can be good,.,.,.,.i find myself writing in the rhythm of the music though sometimes. I write a lot in cafes and its really annoying when they have pop music blaring out, it makes me daydream in a non-helpful-for-work way...I do my best writing in silence. x
