Does music influence your writing?

I find that when I want some help writing a particular scene for my novel, be it someone conveying deep and heart felt emotions to full action packed moments, then listening to certain genres of music help a great deal to convey the right feeling. So, do you find music helps or hinders your writing?

I listen to a vast variety of music when writing, dependant to the subject i'm writing. For instance, historical plots i'll listen to alot of classical music, it really puts my mind into the right mood and place and can i almost be in the historical era i am writing about.

Music brings out your emotions and creates the mood your in, so obviously it influences what goes down on paper.

Absolutely! I have music on all the time when I'm writing, and what I listen to depends entirely on what I'm doing
