First request for full MS after submission to a literary agent

Hello everyone,

I sent a few queries out for my first MS a while back and had a request for the full MS from one agent about 10 days ago. Of course, I sent it straight away! I'm trying not to get excited because I know the chances are still so incredibly small of getting representation, but I just wanted to ask how long it generally takes from request for full MS to a decision? Is it as long as from submission to response? Obviously it depends on the agent and their decision, but I'm just wondering whether the longer it takes, the less likely it's good news?

Any insight welcome!

Amy

Ooh well done for starting on your second, I've still not managed to do that! My first is Young Adult/Crossover. I'm superstitiously scared of jinxing it though! Ah well, all I can do is wait and limit my email-checking to once a day otherwise I'll drive myself up the wall haha. I hope good news is coming your way, I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Thank you, Amy. I am in the process of submitting my first children's novel and have started writing the second.

I don't come on here often but will try to watch out for your (hopefully fab) news. What's your book about? Genre? Adult? Children's?

Aw thank you! I'm trying to balance staying positive with being realistic while I wait- tricky combination! Good luck with your project :)
