First request for full MS after submission to a literary agent

Hello everyone,

I sent a few queries out for my first MS a while back and had a request for the full MS from one agent about 10 days ago. Of course, I sent it straight away! I'm trying not to get excited because I know the chances are still so incredibly small of getting representation, but I just wanted to ask how long it generally takes from request for full MS to a decision? Is it as long as from submission to response? Obviously it depends on the agent and their decision, but I'm just wondering whether the longer it takes, the less likely it's good news?

Any insight welcome!

Amy

Sadly, I have no experience of this (yet!) but I wanted to send congratulations - woohoo!

Thank you for your lovely and useful response.

I'm trying hard to keep my email-checking to a reasonable level haha!

Looking forward to reading your debut by the way :)

Thanks again!

Congratulations Amy! That sounds brilliant. I don't know whether this helps but I heard back about 2 weeks to a month later when I had full MS's requested. One agent was great (she is now my agent!) and got in touch to let me know when she would be getting back to me after a week or so which stopped me obsessively checking my email. Hope you hear soon but it's a great sign either way so enjoy!!
