flagging when redrafting

this is a serious question because I'm wondering if I will ever finish the redrafting of this novel. After about two hours or so of working on the book I find myself actually nodding off at my laptop, I am so mentally drained I have to leave it for a while and detach from it completely. now I would love to know is this just me or is it something others out there have to cope with. this is day time work by the way not in the middle of the night like it used to be.

Regards Paul

Thank you Katie. It's not being too close to the work, although I can see where you are coming from with that observation, my problem is like everyone elses, we have to redraft even after someone has read through our slog!!! it's the working at the laptop, I really do want to go to sleep even though I thoroughly enjoy every redraft every time I read through, it is not that I'm bored but physically drained after a couple of hours, it is the same with first draft work. Hey ho probably just too old. aww poor old fella.

Thanks again, Regards Paul

I find reading on a Kindle much easier - I can just highlight everything that's wrong with it.

There is also something to be said for being too close to your own work, that's why it's good to get someone else to proof for you too.
