How to get back into it??

A few months ago a friend of mine insulted my writing. Ever since then I haven't written a single story, or continued the book I was planning to finish a few months ago. My family members try to help, but I just don't feel it anymore... How can I get back to it???

Hi, I was put off years ago by an older brother who was trying to explain something, because I didn't understand something I wanted to write about, and because he had to explain I thought I would never be able to write, because I should already, somehow know stuff! I was about 7 but that doesn't matter what does matter is because someone shakes your confidence in your own ability it's not their fault it's ours for being wussy. (not a dig at you that by the way) it took me thirty years to start again. I wrote in a post ages ago about Roald Dahl, when he started writing his sisters told him straight "give up Roald you are rubbish and will never be able to write." They told him that after every piece he wrote. Bit like the producers who turned down star wars! good job he took no notice! You don't need any tips you obviously want to write so write and keep getting better. Oh and don't forget, unless you are very very lucky you will have rejections from agents so be ready for that and don't let ANYTHING stop you from doing what you want to do WRITE... Regards Paul. I do so hope my writing this isn't considered a form of positive bullying!

Hi Sara, take that insult as a challenge and get on with your writing, prove to your so-called-friend that you are a good writer and you can finish your book and even get it published. Does he/she use the spare time up as usefully as you. I think not.

Go on, go for it. Let me know your friend's reaction won't you.

My money's on you girl,

best wishes,

rosa.

Oops, I've just realised I assumed your friend was female! Well, that's just my experience, unfortunately... F.
