How much should I write?

I'm on approximately 80 pages of, what might become a book, but it's useful for me to write everything down anyway. If it becomes a book, it will be my first. Is there any minimum amount of pages advised please?.. and thank you..

A novella is around 30k, a novel 80k +. Non-fiction is different; you can write pamphlets or you can write volumes - it's really down to what the subject is, how fresh the treatment and the content, and whether you actually have something useful/interesting to say. If the reader falls asleep halfway through or goes off to do the washing up, it's probably too long - or you've got it wrong.

Hi Stevie,

Font size 8 is probably too small, the standard size for submission is 12, with Times New Roman being the most popular font. It might be a good idea to change your text to reflect this. Page count isn't so important but word count is. The number of pages will only come into play when your work goes through the printing process.

I don't think there's any real 'book size' for non-fiction, just as long as you cover enough of the subject matter in appropriate detail to make potential readers happy.
