Dear Diana
I can recommend Julia Cameron's books " The Sound of paper' and 'The Artist's way'. She is an artist, writer and composer herself and knows how to nurture creativity, which is the aim of these books. She outlines technique where one does other hobbies one loves (say music, painting, gardening), goes for walks and celebrates and acknowledges the work completed. It is a very helpful book and certainly helped me to write. The book is also helping my friend who is currently facing 'writer's block'. I hope this helps.
Alos getting just one page down very morning without being self-critical can help rather than worrying about writing long pages.
thanks emma, that sounds very comforting!:)
Take a little break, read some stuff and write something completely different, just something short. Otherwise read your book before bed while drinking hot chocolate and eating cheese maybe some fab dreams will help. :)
