Lack of respect

Has anyone had any dealings with a US publishing company, 'Publishers Weekly-Select' in regards to getting their self-published books reviewed?

More to the point, when writing to PW-Select has anyone had a personal reply?

PW-Select having not reviewed my book didn't bother to email me to say why. I am NOT looking for praise just a simple answer.

I've written several emails to these people but to NO AVAIL.

To me, this is very odd indeed and shows a total lack of respect.

Hi Roy

Publisher's Weekly is THE publishing industry trade magazine in the US. They're not a publisher per se.

I had a look at the Indie side of their site which they've hived off to separate pages called 'Booklife'. To be fair, they do say they won't guarantee to review every application they receive, and back on the main site that they won't enter into any correspondence regarding same.

Since it appears no money's changed hands, it looks like you may have to put it down to experience, frustrating though that is. Same as much of the publishing world, unfortunately.

Best of luck with your book :)

Paul, thanks for your response. PW are supposed to be ...THE PUBLISHING MAGAZINE IN THE U.S. of A.

Very, very little money has been passed from me over to them.
