Why, when I want to share a new piece of work, can I not delete previous comments i.e. I want people to comment on my latest poem, but they have to wade through 30 comments from my initial shared piece?

It worked, after deleting the work and comments too, saving elsewhere, thank you Jonathan.
You have do delete the old completely before posting new: simply editing doesn't work.
You may need to delete, then log out and back in again. Bit of a pain but it's the only way :)

PS If you want to keep any of the original comments for future reference, copy and paste them into a Word file, or whatever WP you use.
