Hi, everyone. In this opportunity I want to know what's your opinion about nonsense writing, writing a nonsense story and if you know any writer that work the gender recommended me. I know about Lewis Carroll with his masterpiece Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There (I'm a huge fan of Lewis Carroll and Alice), Edward Lear with his ‘Book of Nonsense’ and Ramón Gómez de la Serna with his Greguerías (Spanish author). So, I want to know what do you think about and if you've got any piece of advice that you might give me about how to write a nonsense story.
Don't worry about your spelling! Well, in some points I'm completely agree with you. Sometimes publishing houses don't see the potential of this gender which is fantastic and funny. I think literature is fun and that one is one of things this gender gets together the reader. I enjoyed the last part. I liked it!
I will just add this. We all have a painting inside of us looking for a frame I express this in a little pome wot i ritted. "An author's prayer".
Who but knows that I am here
on that long and dusty path of life?
Are our footfalls hushed in the lowering night?
Are we motes in the passing glancéd eye of time
or are we epitaphs of light?
What is this canvas within that seeks a frame?
Is it comfort or love or just fleeting fame?
Mayhap I stood in that fleeting moonbeams patch
and you saw me standing there and lo!
And after passing, pauséd with a smile,
and said, “ I remember you
long, long ago…”
As a one time newspaper editorial cartoonist and one who likes to write and perform satirical sketches, I have particular views on humor (excuse the Yankee spelling).
I believe laughter is the reaction to spotting a paradox or inconsistency: particularly in a subject that is considered academic and only worthy of greater minds. As the old Victorian cartoons used to say "collapse of stout party". Creating humor makes considerable demands on lateral thinking. So it does not mean that the author is necessarily stupid. Nor do I think that humor and academia are mutually incompatible. Humor is a great teacher. It is an efficient mnemonic system. Some of the best jokes are about the most serious things and if you didn't laugh, you would cry. So one can joke with deathly intent. Nor does it mean that the author lacks soul. I can write romance,Gothic horror or poetry and can be as spiritual as any other. The problem is always the genre. Agents and publishers make snap judgments on a few pages. If you mix flavors, you are in trouble. Er..so my answer to your question "what is nonsense?? is: I haven't the faintest idea. All I know is it takes as much creativity and literary sense as any other work. In fact, I think it takes more. But then, being a joker, I would say that, wouldn't I? I regard being the jester in the court of kings as an honorable profession. But don't me as gospel: I'm trying to find an agent too.
