Hello to everyone,
This is my first post anywhere on here, so general greetings and such. My question is whether or not I can now post the story which I submitted for the short story competition in shared work? There is absolutely no way in hell that it is anywhere near a shortlist, given that I disliked the theme intensely, but it would be nice to try and get some general feedback.
I do have a semi-objective reader, however this person openly admits that they dislike fiction, to the extent that 90% of the books they have read in the last few years were non-fiction. But I digress…
Of course, having posted this, I'll probably find that the results have already been published and I've managed to miss it!
Thanks
Fran
Thanks for all your responses, good to know I'm not completely behind. Any thoughts on whether or not I can go ahead and post it in shared work now?
I only entered because of the challenge of writing something based on a theme I was given. Although I believe mine is an interesting story, I know there will be entries well above my league, but ... I see it as an exercise. A way to test and push my creative ability. Good luck nevertheless.
I wasn't enamoured with the theme either, so didn't submit an entry. I entered last year, but with 3,000 entries it's always going to be a bit of a lottery. The results are to be published in March 2015, so within the next three to four weeks.
