I have recently soaked myself in Bernard Cornwall, Conn Iggulden and Giles Kristian, though I am a big fan of Michael Morpurgo, Sharon Creech and Joanne Harris.

I have recently soaked myself in Bernard Cornwall, Conn Iggulden and Giles Kristian, though I am a big fan of Michael Morpurgo, Sharon Creech and Joanne Harris.
Three Shardlakes, two and a half Herveys, one by Richard Howard, Kristian's 'Lancelot' and BC's War of the Wolf - yes, I still occasionally want to give Uhtred a slap, but Mr C's characterisation is superlative.
Oh, and for good measure there's Thomas Cochrane's 'Autobiography of a Seaman', Richard Holmes' 'Redcoat' and Clark-Kennedy's out-of-print 'Attack the Colour!'. And I've got 'Went the Day Well?', David Crane's book about Waterloo, still to go.
Let's hope there's a few more in my stocking!
