What do aspiring writers talk about on their blogs?

Hi writers, I'm thinking about setting up my first ever blog, but I was wondering even if I did set one up what would aspiring writers like myself talk about?

Replies

I have two blogs (glutton for punishment) that I set up recently. The aim was to use it as a device to build up a following so that someone other than my mum will buy my book when it's published. My blog posts are quite random but the most important thing is that they relate in some way to writing.

my blogs are www.jtbaptiste.com and

www.nadinematheson.blogspot.co.uk

Good Luck and have fun.

Blogs change over time, as you change as writer. When I started, topics were broader: How I felt about writing, why I wanted to do it, which books had inspired me, and book reviews. Lately I've shifted focus - it's more updates on my books and publishing deals, and that's mostly because I lack time to write good posts. It's such a great way to get into the community, though.
