What does it take to be a writer?

We can facilitate the process through reading literature and taking creative writing courses.

How important is creative ability?

I believe the best authors have, Compassion.

Replies

- Trying to see things in a way nobody else sees.

- In my opinion, reading everyday is enough.

- You may be sure your creative ability will be your differential.

Nice questions, Sroka [:

I think that perseverance and knuckling down to it, as I was told by my parents; as well as many of the other things that have already been mentioned in other comments.

I agree Jennifer, you cannot teach creativity.

You can have the best literary education, but that is no guarantee you will able to write two lines of poetry, or attempt to write a novel. However you can teach people to write. No-one was born a journalist.

Self discipline, talent and inspiration combined are the vital ingredients.
