You're on a desert island and you have managed to save one of your prized possessions, your favourite book. Which is it ? what is the single book that you could read over and over again and never get fed up. No entire collections, no trilogy's. Just one simple story that you have had for years and never get staled of reading. I will kick off. The one book that I would have with me is " The wind in the willows" by Kenneth Grahame. This takes me back to my childhood and a story I could always enjoy. So come on now no cheating lets see what people really enjoy.
Janes Adventures in and out of the Book, by Jonathon Gathorne-Hardy
I read this over and over as a child and then lost the book and spent years searching for it as an adult. It recently came back into print. The fantastic concept of the story has never left me. Jane finds a huge picture book hidden away in a dusty attic and she can enter the world shown in the pictures, Each page has a different picture. it was so scary!
'The Stonor Eagles' by William Horwood
Beats Anna Sewell's 'Black Beauty' by a nose (sorry) as I know the latter story off by heart, just about, so I could recite it to myself.
Which you would, after a while ;)
Harry Potter geek over here - so I have to chose Harry Potter. Not sure which one. Perhaps The Order of the Phoenix. (:
